Cuil – a Refreshing Search Engine

Cuil has just launched and is ready to go with 120 billion webpages in its kitty. To be accurate it has 121617892992 webpages in its index.

Firstly, it has a nice new black home page with search results vertically aligned up in the front end. 

Secondly, The search results can be opted in 2 columns or 3 columns depending on what looks good for you.

Thirdly, The amount of content in the description is much higher than those displayed on Google. Not sure if users what to read so much. If the description contains stuffed keywords then it not useful for the user. the page then looks spammy.

Fourthly, The Url and the title are clickable.

The relevancy part does not outsmart Google probably because there aren’t any SEOs spamming cuil for increasing rankings. Maybe few months down the line you might find both search engine delivering same results, or maybe Google being better as it has more experience.

Google is now offering TV Ads tracking through Google Analytics. Setup Google Analytics and link Google Adwords with Google Analytics. Once you run TV campaigns from Adwords Account, Google automatically displays the content of your TV Ad performance on you Google Analytics dashboard.

This is a wonderful way which no media company offering online tracking of Tv ads traffic from Analytical Systems.

Google can go a long way on tracking and ensuring the users get very good benefit of the whole ebusiness marketing and optimization efforts.

Increase on visibility on TV may increase the traffic of other channels as well.

Google is offering these cool Gadgets and API functionality to get access to their database and build cool applications which will help software programmers to build good applications for users. 

This is very good for a user as well as site owners as they can now leverage the Google’s functionality and help create innovative and beautiful products for end users.

However just imagine how many of users really use APIs and how many such users actually build good apps.

If 100 apps are built then maybe 1 will become popular. But out of dozens and millions of sites over the internet there are less than 10% of site owners who have an idea of Apps and how to build it. There are few percentage of the these people who go ahead and build an application.

Ecommerce sites using Widgets

I have seen very few ecommerce sites using widgets or gadgets effectively. Apart from few examples like IRead application on facebook and Amazon widgets etc. It is not a difficult thing to build an app but more difficult is to build an app which becomes a success. This means an app which is liked by everyone.

Ebay with such huge traffic and product database is not active on social media circles as well as any other shopping and ecommerce sites. May be the reason could be due to the time and effort that need to be spent online and return from the same.
